RETREAT RECAP
Categories: 201009
The White Orchid Retreat for 2010 was a tremendous success. Our ladies all wore lovely white fashions and were given a beautiful white orchid to take home with them to remember the day along with a goodie bag.
Jan’s theme was: Music, flowers, love and relationships.
The message from our new President is that WEC should be considered a safe harbor for our members. When you are down, someone will pick you up. When you are up, pick someone else up. It is about “People helping People”. Jan’s challenge to everyone is that this year we will all try to be the best we can possibly be together.
The Retreat started off with live music provided by Joe Scott, 954-536-2446. Jazz guitar and keyboard.
The coffee service was proved by Boomerang Coffeehouse, l63l S. Cypress Rd., Pompano Beach, FL 33060. 954-783-9339. Ask for Jonathan
Carol Metevier shared her fabulous party room again with us. Our day started out with champagne and orange juice for breakfast, wine for lunch and an open bar at the end. Thank you, Carol!
A fantastic, elegant lunch was provided by Rosana Santos-Calambichis of Big Chef. She is one of our fabulous members and we need to remember the incredible job she is capable of doing for your next event as well. 954-965-2480
Gail Smith provided live music throughout the day and composed our very own WEC song. Jan and Gail played a duet called “Knock on Wood” with huge bubbles floating throughout the room.
Joni Rosenthal was our award winning MC that introduced our new Board and they were escorted to the front of the room by Forrest Bledsoe, handsome in his tuxedo.
Sandro’s provided a fashion show and our ladies were so very beautiful as they modeled the latest fashions. Annette and her staff did an amazing job and they came complete with photographers.
Laurina Anderson gave a talk on Empowering Women. She is a coach and speaker and you could feel her words coming from her heart as she connected to your very soul. She is one of our new members and part of our new Board.
It took a whole village and four months of planning to put on this event. Thank you to all that helped to make this the most amazing event of the year. The day was dedicated to our members to be able to relax and enjoy a day filled with love, music, flowers and fellowship. The event will be written up in the Society Section of the newspaper in the fall by Betty Williams.
