Welcome to WEC’s New Website

Chris Guld, your traveling WebmasterHello WEC!

Chris Guld here; your webmaster. Welcome to the Women’s Executive Club’s new website!

This is a new concept for our website.  It includes many of the same pages that the old website had, plus it has an interactive calendar and a blog (this Latest News page.)  This does not affect the private, members-only site.  That is completely separate.  It will remain unchanged.  Notice the link to it in the right sidebar.  The same is true for the Photo Album.  You can also access the old website from a link in the right sidebar.  The member business links are currently for example only, this is one way we can handle the ‘Yellow Page’ listings which have a fee attached.

You current newsletter is availabe on one of the main menu items.  Right now you should see  ’August 2009: WEC Newsletter.’  Also check out the Calendar page and the Latest News page.

Latest News is actually a blog.  This page is a moving target … we can use if for any number of news items.  For now – all news is in our monthly newsletter and I don’t want to mess with that.  I have repeated the New Members from the newsletter to the Latest News page to give you the idea of how this could be used.  Notice the tags.  If you scroll to the bottom of the page you will see a listing of all tags.  For example, if you click on ‘Detroit’ you will see which member mentions Detroit in her introduction.

This website will be a work in process for a while as we think of the best ways to use the interactive and blog features.  Here is some more detail on the website background and purpose for those who are interested.

Take a look around and leave a comment here on what you think.
