APRIL LUNCHEON: TAPPING INTO YOUR TALENTS!!
This month, we depart from the usual as we explore how each of us can better “tap into our talents”. Kathleen Ryan, our VP of Community Involvement, will help us kick off this luncheon, along with a Business Showcase by Michelle Case-Anderson.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH
“Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best.” ~Henry Van Dyke
FROM THE PRESIDENT

Spring is in the air. I started thinking about a few upcoming things that are going on in some of our ladies’ lives: Mother’s Day 05/08, summer camp, traveling, spring break, vacations, camp packing, camp checkups, Easter, Passover, Earth Day 04/22, Administrative Professional’s Day 04/27, Memorial Day, Summer and end of school, spring cleaning, tax preparation for 2012 and beyond, college students, Relay for Life.
WEC has also been extremely busy with 4 events in one week. We started with the Book Club and ended with a fantastic concert by our own Gail Smith. Did you see the fabulous pictures of our Belly Dancers on our web page? What a blast!
We have our next Cannon Circle on 4-22 hosted by Ann Meacham and Dr. Dora Vilk-Shapiro.
Our meeting today is going to be a little different. It is going to give you a better insight into some of the special programs we promote and we are going to get a better understanding of some of your special talents. You don’t want to miss it.
If anyone has gotten some special awards or honors, please let me know about it so that you can be honored at our luncheon. We got to see our own Gail Smith walk down the runway at the Women of the Year Banquet as a past recipient of this prestigious award. There were 830 women present .
Per your request, we have expanded our GEM lunches to Saturday. If you can’t make your slotted time, you can go to any other Gem lunch. Our club rotates these groups so that by the end of the year you will have the opportunity to meet everyone in the Club personally.
Our own Joni Rosenthal has requested prayers for a healing. Please send her a note to let her know she is in our thoughts and prayers.
Warmest Regards,
Jan Bullard
WEC President

Please join us for the next WEC Book Club:

6:30 pm
Myriam Cohen’s home
Myriam will provide main dishes
Please bring a salad, veggie, dessert, and wine
RSVP no later than May 6th to myriam@equilibrix.com
Featured book: The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet’s Nest
The objective of our Book Club is our love for reading but as a result of our "common" love to read, we have developed a beautiful bond of friendship among the group. We discuss personal and business concerns without being "judge" and assist each through ups and downs of our daily lives. A few of the ladies were concerned about the fact that if they host they have to cook elaborate meals…this is NOT about cooking, this is about reading and developing lasting and meaning friendships.
If anyone has any questions about the Book Club, they can contact Rose at: Rosewhite@allstate.com
CANNON CIRCLE
Along with the monthly luncheons, members also get together in a more informal atmosphere during the year. These evening socials are called “Cannon Circles” and are hosted at members’ homes or businesses. The Cannon Circle is named for Past President Shirley Cannon who was known for her gracious and uplifting spirit.
THANK YOU, Vivien Godfrey, for hosting our last Cannon Circle at her lovely home!

GEMS: “GREET, EAT, MEET”

Formed in November 2002, members of WEC who choose to get together for an informal meeting are selected at random in small groups to greet, eat and meet. A Lead person is selected to set a time and place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or whatever. This is a great opportunity to get to know each other on a more personal level. If you would like to be a part of GEMs, please contact Liz Mendel, GEM Coordinator at dolphintravelinc@aol.com or at her office, Dolphin Travel Inc., 954-351-2002.
This is a great opportunity to get to know each other on a more personal level.

WEC TABLE AND RESERVATION POLICIES

We have several club policies which we need to remind everyone:
Regarding items on the tables at the luncheons, the only things permitted are: official club business such as flyers about social events, items from the speaker, and items from the member doing the business showcase. Thank you for your cooperation.
RSVP to luncheons…Any member who fails to cancel a luncheon reservation within 48 hours or who fails to attend a reserved luncheon, will be billed at the current rate by VP of Finance. Each member will be entitled to one courtesy “no-show” per club year.
CLOSING THOUGHT
