Congratulations to our Executive Director Carol McKeever

Carol McKeever has been awarded the Certified Fund Raising Executive designation (CFRE). Carol joins a group of only 5,200 professionals around the world who hold the CFRE designation. 

Individuals granted the CFRE credential have met a series of standards set by CFRE International which include tenure in the profession, education, demonstrated fundraising achievement and a commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations.

They have also passed a rigorous written examination testing the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a fundraising executive and have agreed to uphold Accountability Standards and the Donor Bill of Rights

The Events team members Susan, Carol Metevier, Lynda Amorello, Connie Chaney and Marsha Broadwell met @ Sea Watch to discuss and plan for the upcoming February Cooking Class. We discussed 3 possible choices and are progressing towards making a decision. Lynda has been hard at work bringing all of the updates to our team. Thanks Lynda! We really appreciate you. It was great fun getting together. Watch for updates…..It is going to be a yummy unforgetable experience. :)

UPDATE…..1st tour is full. Please sign up for 2nd tour. We would really like to fill the event with WEC ladies and their guests.

***Carol Metevier is Events Committee Team Host. Wine & Cheese Reception @ 6pm.  2 Tours of 20 people run @ 7:30 & 8:30. The first 20 people signed up can attend the earlier tour. Cost is $30.00 per person, w/ 40 person total limit. Payment along with RSVP is required & event must be prepaid online via WEC website or payment to Rose Gershon-Schneider or Karen Rowe. Sign necessary up by October 1st. Payment must be received by Oct. 15th to attend. The Stranahan House is holding the event evening open for us, so we have to let them know if we won’t need the 2nd tour. At the Sept. meeting 32 people w/ guests signed up. Tours hold 20-25 people.

hauntedThe Stranahan House will present their Ghost Tours. Docents dressed in Victorian mourning clothes relay the old customs and superstitions from days gone by.  The parlor will be staged with a Victorian funeral and the procedure for preparing for the home funeral will be explained. The history of Tombstones, from the very crude stones in the 1800′s to the beautiful art forms in the 1900′s will be presented.
