Fort Lauderdale, FL (June 24, 2010) –Please join us Sunday Evening, July 25th at Cinema Paradiso, (503 SE 6 Street, downtown Fort Lauderdale), as The New River Orchestra presents a concert in their Summer Serenade Series to benefit The Cooperative Feeding Program/ LifeNet 4  Families! The Cinema Presidio provides a wonderful venue to relax and enjoy the magnificent sounds of the New River Orchestra, while supporting our fight against hunger in Broward County!

Cinema Paradiso is South Florida’s most unique theater, originally the home of the First Methodist Church of Fort Lauderdale in 1905. The heart and soul of Cinema Paradiso is its role as Broward County’s only full time Art House theater, showcasing the finest in Independent and Foreign films, along with Documentaries and classic films not shown anywhere else on the big screen. But, this programming only touches the surface of what the theater provides to the community, as is seen with its support of The New River Orchestra and the Cooperative Feeding Program/LifeNet 4 Families!

The cost of the ticket/ donation is just $20.00 per person and we urge you to arrive early at 6PM to experience the organization and efforts that an orchestra accomplishes before the performance. It is spellbinding how the orchestra unites its individual musicians into the performance it showcases. The different parts blend into and become the concert. The actual concert begins at 8PM.

THE NEW RIVER ORCHESTRA

A classical orchestra in Fort Lauderdale established in 2006, the New River Orchestra is the living experience and the collaborative efforts of an organization mobilized by dedicated instrumentalist musicians for themselves in order to create a vehicle for the continued study and performance of classical music. The orchestra differs from other orchestras in that it does not have an artistic director…the musicians themselves are the artistic directors. This is the fundamental sprit on which the orchestra is grounded.
